Coach 4109 was built by Budd in 1950 as Southern Pacific 2375, becoming Texas & New Orleans 448 from 1951 to 1961. It returned to Southern Pacific as 2236 until 1971 when it was acquired by Amtrak and numbered 4423. It was sold to VIA in 1990 and temporarily numbered 148 until conversion of the series which took place in 1995 and 1996. It is fitted with 68 LRC type seats.
