Cass #6 Heisler Locomotive

Cass #6 is a 1929 3-truck 90 ton Heisler built by the Heisler Locomotive Works of Erie, Pennsylvania. It is seen outside the loco shed at Cass, West Virginia  in July 1975.

This design was a competitor of the Shay and used 2 steam cylinders positioned in a "V"  under the boiler driving a prop shaft along the loco centreline to the 3 geared  trucks.
