UK Class 319/2 single voltage EMU (750 V DC). Built between 1987 &
1988 and refurbished by Wolverton works in 1996, these units run on 750 V d.c. 3rd
rail but have provision for adding supply from 25 kV AV overhead supply. Top speed is 100 mph, 160 km/h and are rated at 990 kW, 1327 hp. Class
319/2 has 18 first class seats compared to 12 in a class 319/4 and none in classes 319/0 & 319/3. Connex 319214 carrying "cheap travel" advertising livery at Brighton after a fast (single stop at East Croydon) run from London Victoria on Friday September 22nd, 2000. |
