Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years. The lines are standard gauge. CSMG.2 cars of series 1400-1481 were built by Ganz in Hungary between 1972 & 1978 as double-ended 8 axle articulated cars with seating for 40 and standing room for 158 and a top speed of 60 km/h, 37 mph. They are powered by 4 electric motors having a combined rating of 264 kW, 354 hp and draw 600 volts from the overhead.
