Ryde Pier Station

Michael Taylor

Ryde Pier Station is located at the end of Ryde Pier where the trains connect with steamers from Portsmouth.

In June 1973 the steamers were run by a British Railways subsidiary called Sealink and the BR trains were formed of ex-London Transport tube stock sent to the island in 1967 when steam locomotives were withdrawn. In 1985 these electrics were withdrawn and replaced by newer(1938) LT electric multiple units.
