Slovak Class 163, 263 & 363 Photos

Škoda built 3 versions of their standard mixed traffic electric. Class 163 is a 3000 volt DC version, 263 is the 25,000 volt AC version and 363 is a dual voltage version. Top speed on all versions is 120 km/h, 74 mph.

• Class 163 were built from 1984. They are rated at 3480 kW, 4665 hp.

• Class 263 had 2 locos built in 1984 with a further 10 in 1988. They are rated at 3060 kW, 4102 hp

• Class 363 had 2 locos built in 1980 with a further 173 built between 1984 & 1990. Rated at 3060 kW on AC and 3480 kW on DC.

Locomotives were divided between Slovakia and the Czech Republic, probably based upon their depot allocation at the time and certainly without regard to their numbers.
