| Hampden Park signal box on the ex-LBSCR line from Lewes to
Eastbourne. This signal box was built in the 1888. When I originally
started watching trains in 1956, this box was fitted with a large wheel
to manually operate the level crossing gates which have since been
replaced with half barriers.
