Eridge signal box in June 1977. Eridge was, in 1977, the junction station where the Tunbridge Wells branch met the Oxted to Uckfield line. The line running to Uckfield at one time continued on to Lewes and Brighton and formed a London to Brighton steam alternative route to the electrified mainline via Haywards Heath.
