The Cog Railway is operated by the BKVrt which also
operate the trams, trolleybuses, bus. subway and suburban railways in
Budapest and their tickets are valid on its services It runs from the #18
& 56 trams lines at Városmajor Vá to Széchenyi-hegy which is only a
short walk from the Children's Railway.
The present fleet were built by SGP in Austria in August 1973 and consists
of 7 power units and trailers which are operated together. Numbered 51-57
& 61-67.
The line was built in 1874 and is 3.7 km long and climbs 318 metres with
the steepest grade at 11%. It is standard gauge 1435mm.
