The Appenzeller is a metre gauge railway, electrified at 1500 volts.
Their workshops are in Gais which is also a junction for lines running
to Altstätten, St Gallen & Appenzell.
Tm2/2 97 was built by Orenstein & Koppel in 1960 and is rated at 150 kW, 201 hp with a top speed of 30 km/h, 19 mph. It was photographed in the workshop yard at Gais from train S11 (St Gallen to Appenzell) on Monday April 26th, 2004. |
