Diesel V83 of the SLB.

The Salzburger Lokalbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from an underground station at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof northwards to Lamprechtshausen. It is electrified at 1000 Volt  overhead. 

Diesel V83 of the SLB at their Salzburg Itzling depot on Monday May 12th, 2003. V83 was built by Krauss-Maffei in 1962 as a 992 kW, 1330 hp B-B diesel hydraulic which became DB 211 297-7, in 1991 it was sold to the ÖBB along with 34 other members of the class where it was renumbered 2048 001 and re-motored with a new 840 kW, 1125 hp Caterpillar engine. In November 2002 it was acquired by the SLB.
