Number 64 electric locomotive

The Salzburger Lokalbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from an underground station at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof northwards to Lamprechtshausen. It is electrified at 1000 Volt  overhead.

Number E64 was built by SGP with electric components by Elin in 1954. It is a B-B electric rated at 292 kW and has a top speed of 60 km/h, 37 mph. It weights approximately 45t. It was acquired by the SLB in 1994 from the SAKOG railway where it was  numbered 27.001. It is similar to units E61-63 (BBC controls) but is unable to work in multiple with these because of its Elin type controls.

E64 shunts at Salzburg Itzling station on Monday May 12th, 2003.
