Linzer Lokalbahn Photos
|The Linzer Lokalbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from a
small terminal (located about a 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof) in
Linz to Peuerbach and to Neumarkt-Kallham. It is electrified at
750 Volt overhead. The railway is a division of Stern & Hafferl
Holdings. This is one of 7 units delivered in 2000
which seats 116 second class passengers. It has a top speed of 80 km/h,
50 mph and is rated at 510 kW, 683 hp. The unit was built by Stadler as
their model GTW2/6. It uses a
central motor unit on a B truck with two light-weight driving trailers
each riding on its own non-powered 4 wheel truck thus having a wheel
arrangement of 2-B-2 and is similar to the DB class 646.
22158 in the siding at the Linz station of the Lokalbahn on Wednesday September 25th, 2002 while 22152 is ready to depart from the platform with train 8015.
