The Linzer Lokalbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from a small terminal (located about a 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof) in Linz to Peuerbach and to Neumarkt-Kallham. It is electrified at 750 Volt  overhead. The railway is a division of Stern & Hafferl Holdings. This is one of 7 units delivered in 2000 which seats 116 second class passengers. It has a top speed of 80 km/h, 50 mph and is rated at 510 kW, 683 hp. The unit was built by Stadler as their model GTW2/6. It uses a central motor unit on a B truck with two light-weight driving trailers each riding on its own non-powered 4 wheel truck thus having a wheel arrangement of 2-B-2 and is similar to the DB class 646.
