Linzer Lokalbahn Photos
|The Linzer Lokalbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from a
small terminal (located about a 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof) in
Linz to Peuerbach and to Neumarkt-Kallham. It is electrified at
750 Volt overhead. The railway is a division of Stern & Hafferl
22143 was built in 1954 by Westwaggon for the KBE (Köln-Bonner Eisenbahn) as their unit 55 and was sold in 1987 to the Linzer Lokalbahn. 22143 is in a siding at the Linz station of the Lokalbahn on Wednesday September 25th, 2002. Due to their age and lower speed these units are normally used only for rush-hour services. They seat 114 second class passengers are rated at 328 kW, 440 hp and have a top speed of 60 km/h, 37 mph.
