MXa electric units were built in East Germany for Budapest's suburban
railway from 1975. They run in 3 car units (driving motor units at each end
with a centre non-powered unit fitted with 2 pantographs) without connections
between
coaches. They are rated at 400 kW, 536 hp and have a top speed of 70 km/h,
43 mph. The 3 car unit seats 168 2nd class passengers. Unit 1113 was built in April 1980. HÉV MXa class driving motor 1113 departs Árpád Híd station with a northbound train on Friday, April 16th, 2010. |
