1047 005-2 at Sopron

The MÁV 1047 is a development from the ÖBB Class 1116 locomotives built by Siemens from 1999 onwards to operate on the DB & ÖBB systems at 15,000 V ac and in Hungary at 25,000 V ac. They ride on Bo-Bo trucks, the locos are rated at 6400 kW, 8580 hp, weigh 86 metric tonnes and have a top speed of 230 km/h, 143 mph.
1047 005-2 was built by Siemens Krauss/Maffei in München in August 2002 (serial number 20793).

1047 005-2 runs through Sopron station in preparation for working GySEV train IC937 to Budapest on Thursday October 23rd, 2003.
