The DB class 185 are dual voltage (15 kV & 25kV) versions of class 145. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at 4200 kW, 5630 hp and have a top speed of 140 km/h, 87 mph. The class was introduced in 2000 primarily for freight work.
This locomotive was built by ADtranz (works number 33399) in 2000 but did not enter service with DB until November 2002.
