Class 180 Electric Locomotive

180 015-0 at Berlin Ostbahnhof.

The DB class 180 consist of 20 dual voltage electrics, able to run on the 15,000 volt AC in Germany plus the 3000 volt DC systems in the Czech Republic and Poland. The locomotives were built by Skoda in what was Czechoslovakia between 1988 & 1991 for the DDR as their class 230. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at 3080 kW, 4130 hp with a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph.
This locomotive was built by CKD (builder's number 8796) in April 1991 and originally numbered 230 015-0 and became 180 015-0 under the 1992 renumbering scheme.
