113 268-7 at Munich Hbf

4960 hp / 3700 kW built from 1962. Bo-Bo trucks. 15,000 volts ac with a top speed of 160 km/h, 100 mph.. These locos were originally DB class 112 and were higher speed versions of class 110 for TEE and Intercity trains. The class was re-designated 113 to make room for the ex-DDR 212 which became DB 112 upon unification of the two Germanys.
This locomotive was built by Krauss-Maffei (works number 18927) in November 1963 as E10 1268, later in 1968 it was renumbered to 112 268-8 and then in January 1991 it became 113 268-7.

113 268-7 was working empty coaching stock at München Hauptbahnhof on Tuesday October 21st, 2003.
