This locomotive was built by Krauss-Maffei in February 1971 (serial number 19463) and was withdrawn at the end of January 2003.

103 103-8 in the rain at the loco stabling siding near platform 5 at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof on Saturday morning September 21st, 2002 and was still in the siding later that evening. The loco had worked an ECS train from Halle on Friday evening after working IC753 from Frankfurt to Halle.
