This is one of 43 units delivered between 1991 & 2001 which seats both first & second class passengers. It has a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph and is rated at 550 kW, 737 hp. The unit was built by Stadler as their model GTW2/6. It uses a central motor unit on a B truck with two light-weight driving trailers each riding on its own non-powered 4 wheel truck thus having a wheel arrangement of 2-B-2. There is a corridor in the engine module to allow passengers to move between the two driving trailers, it is very noisy in there.
This unit was built by Stadler (works number 015) in September 2001. 646 015-8 is the number on the central power unit, both trailers are numbered in the 946 series.
