These two car units (motor unit and a driving trailer) are powered by a
single 485 kW, 650 hp diesel using a
hydraulic transmission to drive both axles in the trailing truck
(2-B+2-2). with a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. They were
built from 1992 onwards and seat 12 first class and 112 second class
passengers. 309 sets were built by AEG, Duewag and LHB and two sets are in
service with Luxembourg Railways. This unit was built by Düwag (works number 91327) in June 1995. Dieseltriebwagen 628 698-3 waits with train RB39087 (10:34 to Hoyerswerda) at Cottbus on Friday May 9th, 2003. |
