Class 175 High Speed DMU

Class 175 originated from an order to Waggonbau Görlitz in 1962 for a
4-car high speed diesel hydraulic multiple unit. They were originally
classed as SVT18.16, became class 175 and ultimately 675. The are powered
by diesel engines in each driving unit with a total output of 1472 kW and
a top speed of 160 km/h, 100 mph. Unit 175 015-7 was built in 1968 by Waggonbau Görlitz (works number 020400/A8/68) numbered VT18.16.08a and was withdrawn in May 1989 Railcar 175 015-7 at Berlin Lichtenberg on Friday April 00th, 2007. |
