Class 290 are Bo-Bo diesel hydraulics used for heavy shunting. They are
rated at 809 kW, 1084 hp and have a top track speed of 80 km/h, 50 mph and
a shunting speed of 40 km/h, 25 mph. This locomotive was built in April 1967 by MaK (works number 1000416) as V90 043, and became DB 290 43-9 under the 1968 renumbering scheme and the number was retained under the 1992 unification scheme. 290 043-9 at Cottbus on Friday May 9th, 2003. |
