Class 290 Diesel Locomotive

Class 290 are Bo-Bo diesel hydraulics used for heavy shunting. They are rated at 809 kW, 1084 hp and have a top track speed of 80 km/h, 50 mph and a shunting speed of 40 km/h, 25 mph.
This locomotive was built in January 1965 by MaK (works number 1000274) as V90 016, and became DB 290 016-5 under the 1968 renumbering scheme and the number was retained under the 1992 unification scheme.
