| The Dash8-40C is a 4000 hp, 2984 kW diesel electric riding on a pair of 3 axle trucks. They were built by General Electric in Erie Pennsylvania. In 2010, CNR purchased 35 used ex-CNW and ex-UP GE dash-8 locomotives (2100 to 2134) and 27 wide cab versions that were built for the Santa Fe (2135 to 2161). 2162 to 2199 and 2098/99 (all ex-ATSF/BNSF) were acquired in January 2011. | |
