Notes on ÖBB Electric Numbering System.
 Electric classes start with 1 and the 3rd & 4th digits have the following meanings.
  • 01 through 19 are high speed locomotives
  • 20 through 39 are heavy goods locomotives (1822 is only class)
  • 40 through 59 are mixed traffic engines
  • 60 through 69 are shunter/switchers
  • 70 through 89 are pre-1938 designs
  • 90 through 99 are narrow gauge

The ÖBB is electrified at 15,000 Volts AC
