The class 4010 are 6 car electric multiple units built from 1965 onwards and are powered by a single driving motor unit with both 4-wheel trucks powered. The motor unit is rated at 2265 kW, 3040 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. These units seat 42 first class and 228 second class passengers. Many of their express duties are being taken over by loco hauled trains and 4010s are now seen less prestigious services.
Power unit 4010 010-9 was built by SGP in Graz in 1966 (works number 63524) with electrical gear from Elin. It entered service in January 1967.
