Class 5047 Single Car Diesel Unit

The 5047 class was built by Jenbacher from 1987 onwards as a 62 seater
second class diesel railcar for secondary services over the
non-electrified sections of the ÖBB. The units ride on 2 4-wheel trucks
with both axles of one powered by a 419 kW, 562 hp diesel using a
hydraulic transmission to produce a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. 5047 091-3 was built by Jenbacher Industries in early 1994 (serial number 3999.093). 5047 0091-3 waits at Sopron with train R7716 (09:41 to Wiener Neustadt) on Thursday May 15th, 2003. |
