The 5047 class was built by Jenbacher from 1987 onwards as a 62 seater
second class diesel railcar for secondary services over the
non-electrified sections of the ÖBB. The units ride on 2 4-wheel trucks
with both axles of one powered by a 419 kW, 562 hp diesel using a
hydraulic transmission to produce a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. 5047 066-5 at Steindorf bei Straßwalchen is train R5821 (16:05 to Braunau am Inn) on Monday October 27th, 2003. Photographed from E1742 (Linz to Salzburg). |
