Class 5047 Single Car Diesel Unit

The 5047 class was built by Jenbacher from 1987 onwards as a 62 seater
second class diesel railcar for secondary services over the
non-electrified sections of the ÖBB. The units ride on 2 4-wheel trucks
with both axles of one powered by a 419 kW, 562 hp diesel using a
hydraulic transmission to produce a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. 5047 004-6 was built by Jenbacher Industries (serial number J3395.004) in late 1987. 5047 004-6 is the rear unit of a pair working empty through platform 2 at St Pölten on Thursday May 15th, 2003. |
