The ÖBB Class 1822 are classified in the heavy goods category but the 5 member class primarily work the Innsbruck- Lienz corridor trains via Italy. They were built in 1993 and run on the ÖBB system at 15 kV AC and the Italian 3 kV DC via Brenner & Fortezza.
