A Grand Central Station bound M-2 EMU arrives at Stamford, CT station in August, 1978.

In 1978 this service was run by Conrail on behalf of the MTA & Connecticut DOT on what was a mainline of the old New Haven & Hartford Railroad. In 1983 MTA formed these services into The Metro-North Railroad.
