SD45-2 locomotives are 3600 hp locomotives with 6 wheel trucks built by EMD. The lead engine is 5638 built in May 1972 and the trailing loco is 5813 built in June 1973 and is carrying the Kodachrome livery that was intended for the Southern Pacific-Santa Fe merger.

The locomotives are seen heading south from the yards in Pueblo, CO on a Sunday morning in June 1987.
