P42DC #900 hauling train number 72 (Windsor-Toronto) has just come off of the Dundas Hill and onto the Lakeshore sub-division with 4 LRC cars from the 1980s. The two CNR Dash 9-44CW on a westbound freight had been held for the passenger and their combined 8800 hp was being unleashed for the climb up the escarpment. Photographed on Sunday March 24th, 2002.

900 is VIA Rail's first GE P42DC (built in October 2001, serial number 53216) with a rating of  4250 hp, 3171 kW and riding on 4 wheel trucks. It is geared for 110 mph maximum but restricted to 100 mph, 162 km/h in service.
