GP7 #73 was built in October
1950 and rebuilt to class GP9u as CPR1683 in 1987, GP9 #401 was steam heat
fitted for passenger service when built in 1954 and was rebuilt to GP9u as
CPR1688 in 1988. Running eastbound near West Toronto the late evening sun catches #73 & 401. A third loco GP7 #77 is out of the photo which was made in August 1974. The Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway was a wholly owned subsidiary of the CPR but still retained it's locomotives in its own livery. The TH&B has now disappeared and is part of the St. Lawrence & Hudson division of the Canadian Pacific. |
