OSR 51 at Salford shops

Ontario Southland Railway operates the 17.6 mile line between Ingersoll & Tillsonburg (ex CP Burwell sub) as well as supplying switching locomotives to various industries and the Guelph Junction Railway.

Locomotive 51 was built in December 1947 by EMD (serial number 5703) as a NW2 4-axle switcher for the Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railway. It was retired by them in November 1988 and acquired by the OSR in 1992. It is rated at 1000 hp, 746 kW.
