SD40-2 #1736 was a London built GMD locomotive built in 1974. 3000 hp with C-C trucks. It was sitting in the works yard coupled to flatcars carrying the GP9 body on one and probably the GP prime mover on the other.

Photos were taken at the railways shops during a NMRA Regional convention tour in North Bay, Ontario in October 1, 1977.
