GEXR 4046 switching at Kitchener

The Goderich & Exeter Railway took over the CN operations in the Goderich area in April 1992 as part of RailTex and was then absorbed into RailAmerica. Headquarters of the G&E are in Goderich.

4046 is an EMD GP40 built in August 1968 (serial number 34089). It started life as MKT 206, then UP 512 following their merger, was sold to Virginia Southern and finally in 1988 was acquired by the Goderich-Exeter Railway as their 4046.
