The Regionalverkehr Vogtland GmbH (Vogtlandbahn) operate
their own diesel units over the DB trackage around Hof in Bavaria and in
parts of Saxony. They also operate a Germany to Germany service which
passes through the Czech Republic. These DMUs are 2 car motor units
similar to the DB class 642 units and are rated at 550 kW, 737 hp, seating 12 1st class &
98 2nd
class passengers. Fitted with a mechanical transmission and have a top speed of
120 km/h, 75 mph. This unit was built by Siemens (Uerdingen) in December 2002 (serial number 93143) and is officially numbered 95 80 0642 324-7 DVBG. VT 24A departs as empty stock from Regensburg Hbf on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009. |
