The Vorchdorferbahn is a standard gauge railway which runs from Lambach
for 15 km in a southerly direction to Vorchdorf-Eggenberg where it
makes an end-on connection with another S&H line, the narrow-gauge
Traunseebahn. The railway is a division of Stern & Hafferl
Holdings. 20111 was built in 1953 as number 5 of the
Extertalbahn in Germany and moved here in 1970. It seats 60 passengers,
draws 800 volt from the overhead to produce 320 kW, 429 hp and has a top
speed of 70 km/h, 43 mph. Unit 20111 has just arrived in Lambach with train 8220 from Vorchdorf-Eggenberg and will return as train 8221. Thursday September 26th, 2002. Link to the Stern & Hafferl web site (in German) Select Bahnen. |
