Kufstein Castle

Kufstein sits astride the Inn River as it flows north from the Tyrol into Germany. The fortress ( Festung Kufstein) is built on the eastern hillside overlooking the river. 

This view is from the bridge linking the two parts of town and also shows the Auracher Löchl  hotel where I stayed. I highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant. This hotel is the large cream building and my room had a bay window facing the river. The Auracher Löchl website in English is here.
