9020 with train 231 crossing the Dundas Sub

CP Rail 9020 was built by GMD (serial number 4826) in 1988. It is a SD40-2F rated at 3000 hp. Type SD40-2F consists of 25 locomotives built on order C469 between November and December 1988 and is unique to the CP who preferred the SD40's prime mover (645 to the 710 in use by 1988). It uses the CNR inspired "Draper-Taper" (cut out behind the cab) to improve rearward vision.

9020 was the trailing locomotive along with leader 5900 & 5617 as train 231 heads across the CN's Dundas Sub on the way to Hamilton. Photographed on Wednesday November 2nd, 2005.
