1689 (ex-TH&B 402) switching in Calgary

CP1689 was built by GMD (works number A570) in 1954 as a GP9 numbered TH&B 402. In February 1988 it was modified with a chopped nose and renumbered. It is rated at 1750 hp (1305 kW) and rides on 2 2-axle trucks.

1689 switching containers at Calgary along with 1529 on Sunday May 22nd, 2004. As well as being in a different livery, this ex-Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo loco does not have the dynamic brake blister. Link to my 1970s photo of TH&B 402
